HAWKCHURCH is holding its annual Village Fete Weekend this Bank Holiday.It kicks off with a family rounders match at 6pm, on Friday, August 22, followed by live music and a barbecue at the Old Inn.The Teddy Bears' Picnic and parachute jump will return on Saturday. Children under 16 are invited to make a parachute for their teddy bears and prizes will be awarded for the best decorated one.On Sunday, the companion dog show will take place in the village playing fields, followed by a Songs of Praise service at St John the Baptist Church in the evening.The fete will draw to an end on Monday with a samba band and the Fete Royal party parading through the village.For more information, ring Christine Bright on (01297) 678498.
