Offwell has been recognised for its aesthetic appeal after the village scooped an award from the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE).

CPRE, which replaced the Best Kept Village Competition, has awarded the village’s hay cart the winning entry in the ‘most creative and distinctive planted outdoor space’ category.

Offwell Parish Council will receive a one-year complimentary subscription to CPRE membership, a certificate, plaque and £200.

Melanie Jolly has been thanked by the parish council for maintaining the cart and ensuring visitors to the village receive such a welcoming sight.
