ONE Seaton grandfather will have to fight temptation on a daily basis - as the diabetic takes up his post in a sweet shop.Jeff Taylor, 63, will be working as a shop assistant and general handy-man at Sweet Heaven when it opens on Saturday, May 9.His daughter, Vicki Fisher, and her husband, Mark, have recently taken over the traditional sweet store in Fore Street. Jeff's wife Kath, 62, said she may help out from time to time - and is also a diabetic.Jeff said: "I'm looking forward to it and I'm not worried about temptation - I'll just eat anyway! But, seriously, the pear drops will be particularly difficult to avoid. I used to eat a lot of chocolate and can still eat a sweet every now and then. I love the mint leaves and raspberry ripples. It was difficult when I was first diagnosed with diabetes. I don't think it can be compared to an alcoholic working in a pub. I can resist!" Town councillor and mechanical engineer Mark said he and his wife thought 'why not' when the shop came on the market. He said: "I have got faith in Seaton. I think it's an up and coming town and have put my money where my mouth is. I want to lead by example."He added that other shopkeepers had been helpful and there was a real community spirit in town.
