Emergency units scrambled after fears that two men were cut off by the tide between Seaton and Beer
Rescue services were scrambled after fears that two coastal walkers were cut off by the tide beneath steep cliffs near Seaton yesterday (Wednesday April 16).
A member of the public called Portland Coastguards on 999 at around 5pm reporting that the men appeared to be stranded between Beer Beach and Seaton Hole.
Coastguard Helicopter RESCUE-106, Sidmouth Inshore Rescue Boat and Beer Coastguard Rescue Team were all sent to the scene.
A thorough search of the shoreline below the cliffs was carried out by all three units with no sightings of anyone in difficulty.
Once confident that the men sighted had departed the area unobserved, all units were then stood down to return to base.
