Organisers of a charity hog roast at Axminster are hoping to bring home the bacon for two worthy causes.
Furzleigh Down Dairy, in Cooks Lane, is holding an open day on Saturday (May 21) from noon, in aid of Devon Air Ambulance and The Flamingo Pool.
There will be pony rides, a bouncy castle, live music by Wise Intentions, a spinning and weaving demonstration and lots of activities for children, as well as many stalls.
The event is being held to celebrate the opening of the dairy’s shop last autumn. The project involves four family members, Val Voysey, her daughter Liz Lane - who makes the ice cream they sell - and daughters-in-law Elaine and Tracey Voysey. The shop is open daily in holiday time, but closed otherwise on Mondays. Opening times are 11am to 5pm.
The hog roast is sponsored by Thomas Westcott chartered accountants, Mole Avon Trading Company and Matford Arable.
