POLICE in Honiton are concerned that a rare spate of house burglaries could be linked.
Three homes have been burgled in the town in the past month and, on each occasion, the occupier was away on holiday.
Pc Ian Atyeo, Neighbourhood Beat Manager, told Honiton Town Council on Monday night that it could be more than a coincidence.
"They all had the same modus operandi," he said. "In each case, entry was gained by forcing entry via the rear ground floor.
"All three occupants were on holiday. It could be a coincidence, but doesn't seem likely."
Detectives from Honiton CID are now investigating the crimes.
Anybody with information about the burglaries is urged to call Honiton Police Station on 08452 777444.
