Honiton Town Council invite local residents to comment as it bids to get Holyshute House listed.

MEMBERS of the public are being urged to submit their own comments about Holyshute House - as Honiton Town Council battles to get the property listed.

If given the green light, the property will be designated a national heritage site.

The town council will be making a submission to English Heritage and is inviting comments from local residents - so they can be included in its response.

English Heritage has carried out an initial assessment of Holyshute House, as part of its inquiry into whether or not it has special architectural or historic interest. Although some features remain, the house has been altered over the years.

Factual details relating to the house, outbuildings and associated walls are being assessed by the organisation to see if the Monkton Road site is eligible to be added to the National Heritage List for England.

The town council has 21 days to make a submission.

Anyone wishing to comment is urged to call Honiton Town Council on (01404) 42957 or email the deputy clerk on deputyclerk@honiton.gov.uk
