A Christmas fair put on by Honiton 55+ Centre has been hailed as a success by its organisers.

The event offered various stalls, food and entertainment, and was visited by the centre’s chairman and Honiton town councillor, John Zarczynski.

He helped welcome Santa to the event, before resuming his numerous other festive engagements.

After a rendition of various Christmas carols, from Honiton Ukulele Group, the day was finished with the centre’s Christmas raffle.

The star prize, two tickets to see Lord of the Dance at Plymouth Pavilion, was won by Chrissy Larcombe.

In total, the day raised more than £450. All proceeds go towards the centre’s continuation, now run as a non-profit organisation.
