YOUNG members of 1st Honiton Scout Group have been treated to a trip to Brownsea Island.

Eight Beavers, one Cub and one Scout enjoyed the day trip, visiting the Lord Baden Powell statue on the quay at Poole before taking a ferry to the island.

Luca Gard was invested by a landmark stone on the island, a ceremony witnessed by Explorers from across the South West who were camping on Brownsea.

Helen Turner, of Honiton's Leonard Beaver Colony, said: "We shared our day on the island with the 3rd Poole Sea Scout Beavers.

"All the Beavers were adopted by the Explorers for the day and they had lots of tasks to do.

"They all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well as making lots of new friends.
