Vigil, exhibition and music to celebrate work of military personnel.
Armed Forces Day will be marked in Honiton later this month with a series of events in the town centre.
Organiser Steve Parsons says: “This isn’t Remembrance Day - we should celebrate those who return from duty to their loved ones and thank them for their success in their work to try and preserve peace.
“This is our way to show respect and support for them in a public way.”
A 24-hour vigil will take place next to the war memorial, outside St Paul’s Church, from 6pm on Friday, June 29, to 6pm on Saturday, June 30.
On the Saturday, an exhibition will be staged in the Mackarness Hall from 10am.
Military vehicles, music, displays and games will also be features of the celebrations.
Money raised during the event will benefit charities supporting those in the armed forces.
Mr Parsons and the organising committee will be in Honiton town centre on Saturday to raise awareness of the celebrations - and taking names of those interested in taking part in the vigil.
