PLANS by Slades Countrywise to move to Heathpark Industrial Estate in Honiton have been welcomed by town councillors.

The move from Turk's Head, to make way for a new Aldi store, will create 22 full-time jobs, members of Honiton Town Council's planning committee heard.

Councillors said the re-location site, in Gloucester Crescent, had been vacant since units there were built and had attracted vandals.

Planning officers at Knowle and the district ward member are also recommending the plan for approval.

The new store will have extended opening hours.
