A HONITON builder pulled the plug on his landline after receiving more than 40 calls from jobseekers.Kevin Holman's home phone rang non-stop after he placed an advertisement with JobCentre Plus for a labourer."I received more than 40 calls in less than 24 hours even from people in the Midlands," he told the Herald."I can't praise JobCentre staff enough, but had to call them back and ask for my telephone number to be taken off the advert."It goes to show how many builders are looking for work."Mr Holman (pictured right), 47, of Kevin Holman Cobb and Stone, uses traditional building methods such as cobb and limestone, and has seen his workload increase."I know the building trade is in a bad state, but I've never had this kind of response before," he said.
