A 21-year-old Honiton man and a 17-year-old girl from Dunkeswell are in police custody in Exeter following a pursuit in Honiton earlier this afternoon.

The two were apprehended by police in Lace Walk car park.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Constabulary told the Herald: "Police tried to stop a car in High Street.

"It was a routine stop, but the vehicle drove off towards the police station.

"It was spotted later at St Michael's roundabout, at the top of Church Hill, and then King Street and High Street, where the vehicle stopped and the occupants ran away."

The spokesman said an ambulance was called because the woman complained of feeling unwell.
