Honiton Christmas Carnival rounded off three days of festivities in the town on Saturday.

The mayor, Councillor David Foster, went out of his way to support the event - dressing up as a fairy and joining Honiton Twirlstars for a show-stopping dance routine.

Town crier Dave Retter went Scottish for the occasion, wearing a kilt. There was no chance of a gust of wind causing blushes - he wore a pair of warm trousers underneath his ‘skirt’.

The ‘just for fun’ event led to two symbolic awards. Nunsford Nutters did a Properrr Job, picking up the Spirit of Carnival award, and Barry Perry, of Sidvale CC, was presented with the Jodie Bea Cup for his services to carnival over many years.
