The event, which is a popular fixture in the town’s seasonal calendar, will be held at St Paul’s Church from December 7 to 10.

A Honiton church is set to be lit up with festive lights and sights as the town’s annual Christmas tree celebration makes a return this year.

The event, which is a popular fixture in the town’s seasonal calendar, will be held at St Paul’s Church from December 7 to 10.

Applications have now opened to organisations and businesses to display a tree in the church, with the dealine for entries being Friday, October 27.

Event committee member Becca Bradley-Carter said: “Last year approximately 500 people came to see an amazing array of 36 beautifully and imaginatively decorated trees. This year we are hoping participants will do themselves proud once more.

“Lunches and refreshments will again be provided, and there will also be activities for children.”

Application forms are available by calling 01404 44035.

The event is also seeking help with stewarding and refreshments donated by participating organisations.
