Honiton Town Council has agreed to donate �500 to the organisers of Honiton Summer Fun Festival. The cash will act as a springboard to allow the group, which formed following feedback from a Facebook group, to organise fund-raising events to realise the estimated �10,000 cost of staging the event. Cllr Vera Howard wanted the request to be put in writing and presented to the next policy committee meeting, but the council felt it should be supporting events for young people.
