A Honiton couple will be facing their fear of heights and jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet to boost funds for the town’s new day hospice.
Rob and Pauline Curry, of Bests of Honiton, have signed up to do a tandem skydive on Sunday, September 21, at Dunkeswell Airfield, for Hospiscare’s East Devon Day Hospice Appeal.
More than £130,000 has been raised as part of day hospice appeal, which will help to complete and run the state-of-the-art facility in King Street for a year. The day hospice will serve the communities of East Devon.
“It is such a good cause,” says Pauline. “If we raise a few hundred pounds, why not?”
This will be a first for Rob and Pauline, who have never taken part in a skydive before, and admit they aren’t too keen on heights.
Rob added: “It is going to be a challenge. But, who knows, we might go on to do something adventurous after that.”
The couple have so far raised between £300 and £400 for the charity.
