Honiton crime figures continue to fall

POLICE in Honiton were praised for their hard work as crime figures showed a big reduction on the same time last year.PC Ian Atyeo told Honiton Town Council that, between July 14 and August 11, the total number of recordable crimes was 69, compared to 107 for a similar period last year.PC Atyeo said: "It is a big drop in crime and that is not unusual as over the last few months I have been reporting drops in crime."This is being achieved by hard work by the officers from Honiton and across East Devon, as well as the PCSOs."He said in total this year, there have been 200 fewer crimes in Honiton compared to the same time last year.Councillors thanked the police for their work in reducing crime.
