The evening was put on by Rob Cope, the store’s community champion, who gave the youngsters a pack with quiz sheets in that they filled in as they walked around.

Helen Turner, scout leader, said: “They had to find fruit and vegetables of different colours and find out where they had come from. We had to look for the temperature of the freezer and then popped in for a couple of minutes to make sure it was really cold.

“We then went into the chiller and had a look around the warehouse.”

To finish, the cubs tried pitta bread, rye crackers, cucumber and carrots with healthy dips. Helen added: “The cubs had a brilliant time and the evening finished off with a goody bag, which included a certificate, activity book, recipes, apple and most importantly, their Farm to Fork badge.”
