Darren, 23, of Honiton, is a former student of Honiton Community College and the middle son of Alex and Carole Watson.
Plymouth University is Darren's next stop. He is to take his Certificate in Education, to become a teacher, and is able to study the course at Bicton, which has a link with the university.
Darren is a student governor at Bicton College. He said: "It's been an enjoyable seven years and I would like to thank all the lecturers, past and present.
