RESIDENTS' comments about the Honiton Design Statement are being invited by the town council.This document outlines when planning permission is needed for advertisements, recommended materials and colours, clarity of signage, level of illumination, the use of A-boards, and how advertisements fit in with Listed Building Consent.As part of Honiton Town Council's new role as a quality council to approve advertisement fascia boards and hanging signs, the planning committee has put together the document outlining its design statement and policies. As part of the council's consultation, before sending this for adoption by East Devon District Council, as the Local Planning Authority, Honiton Chamber of Commerce is considering the document. It is also available on the town council's website, www.honiton.gov.uk, and in hard copy from the office.A spokesman for the town council said: "We would welcome any comments from people in the town by Friday, December 5.
