Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce is calling upon businesses and residents to light up the town this Christmas.

The Christmas lights will be switched on at 5.30pm on Saturday, November 19, by Ava, the eldest daughter of the Combe Estate family.

Combe Estate has also donated a Christmas tree which will stand at the front of St Paul’s Church. In the afternoon, there will be street entertainment, with a sound system provided by Otter Windows, so everyone can enjoy carol singing.

Honiton Lions Club will also be attending with Father Christmas from 3.30pm, who will handing out sweets.

Chamber chairman Tony McCollum thanked Honiton Town Council for its help and sponsors of the event.

He added: ““Yet again the Christmas lights will be a magnificent beacon to shoppers, but this year we are hoping that everyone will get in to the spirit and light up their shop windows.

“We are also hoping the private individuals who have their homes above the shops will join in as well so that Honiton shines brightly for all to see.

“We are eternally grateful to all our sponsors and Honiton Town Council for their support at this busy time of year. Let’s make Honiton a truly magical Christmas shopping destination.

“With the cheaper parking and so many unique individual businesses mixed in with the larger nationals, Honiton is a must for all to come and shop for that special present.”

The Chamber wish to thank all the shops and businesses that have donated money over the past few years, to make this annual light up event possible.
