A Honiton gym is holding a sponsored sled push this week to raise funds for the town’s rugby club, which recently saw a fire break out in one of its containers.
B! Health and Fitness in Honiton is asking residents to keep a prowler sled moving continuously until it has covered 45,000m – or 5,000 lengths.
The move comes after a container belonging to the club was destroyed in a blaze on March 19.
Boxes of memorabilia, trestle tables, freezers, glazed windows and other building supplies perished in the blaze.
Craig Bernhardt, founder of CEO of B! Health and Fitness, said: “We want to try to raise some funds to contribute towards replacing some of the kit that got destroyed in the fire.
“With plenty of help, we hope to keep the sled moving for approximately nine hours.
“If you are willing to do a 15-minute slot on the sled (unloaded) please call the club on 01404 46677.”
The challenge, being held all day on Thursday (March 29) is open to both members and non-members.
