With the support of an £875,000 finance package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, Deer Park Hotel has built an orangery on the estate as an extension to its Georgian mansion.
A Honiton hotel is marking its 50th anniversary by creating 20 jobs and building an orangery on its 80-acre site to create a new wedding venue.
Previously a squire’s mansion, Deer Park was converted into a hotel in 1966 and now offers boutique breaks and country getaways.
The country house also boasts 33 bedrooms, a walled garden, thatched tree house and luxury restaurant.
With the support of an £875,000 finance package from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, the management team has built an orangery on the estate as an extension to the Georgian mansion, transforming it into an events venue that can cater for up to 350 guests.
As a result of the expansion, the business expects weddings at the site to double, and will be creating the jobs to support the rise in demand.
The management team also predicts the company’s turnover to increase by 20 per cent before the end of 2016. Mark Godfrey, managing director at Deer Park Hotel, said: “The redevelopment of the orangery is part of wider plans to increase the services that we can provide for weddings and corporate events.
“It was obvious from the beginning that the relationship team at Lloyds Bank shared our energy and vision for the project, and the guidance they provided throughout the development was a great support to the management team.”
Martin Potts, relationship manager for Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, added: “Deer Park Hotel is the ideal location for a wedding. It’s no wonder people from across the country select the hotel for their special day.”
