In the last 12 months Cosmic has also been working closely with rural communities, farmers and small independent businesses in remote areas such as Dartmoor and Exmoor.

Through this work, its team of digital skills trainers have supported people in their use of technology, including social media, to be able to access online resources and promote their businesses.

Nina, who has been heavily involved with the project, added: “Cosmic is delighted to be providing digital support and mentoring for farmers in our most rural locations of Dartmoor and Exmoor.

“We have been able to transform farmers lives, enabling them to understand the benefits of digital, introducing them to new software, apps and hardware and helping them to become more efficient and less fearful of future technology.”

Cosmic calls itself an ethical IT business and social enterprise, and specialises in IT training courses, business consultancy, website development and technical support. The social enterprise consists of 30 people and has been running for 21 years.

The business is no stranger to awards success, as its joint-CEO won two top awards in 2015.

Julie Hawker scooped the title of Women’s Social Enterprise Champion of the Year at the Social Enterprise UK Awards and Director of the Year award at the Venus Devon awards.
