POLICE are hunting a thief after a market trader's takings were stolen from a van in Honiton.

POLICE are hunting a thief after a market trader's takings were stolen from a van in Honiton.A mobile phone was also stolen from the vehicle, which was parked outside Budgens at 4.20pm on Saturday, May 9. Details were only released by police last Friday.A spokesperson said officers are hunting for a male suspect.He is described as white, approximately five feet and eight inches tall, of a medium build and in his late 20s or early 30s.He had short, light brown hair and was wearing a white long-sleeved top, which may have zipped up at the front and had a motif on it, and dark trousers.The police spokesperson said: "This male had been hanging around Honiton High Street for a while before he actually committed the crime. "His identity is sought and police ask anyone who may have any knowledge of this male, or who witnessed the incident, to contact them."
