Honiton night life under threat
Time for residents to stand up and be counted against complainers, says reader.
Oh, my goodness. There is this underlying feeling that some people would prefer to close all the night entertainment for the people of Honiton.
The Orange Tree has now had to stop the live music at midnight, close doors and windows and monitor people outside!
So I wonder where they complaints are from? Most people on a night out don’t get to The Orange Tree until 11pm. That’s how it is. We would love to come out earlier, but most of us don’t even get back from work until 7pm.
By the time we are ready, visit a few public houses (that are still open ) on the way and it’s 11pm.
So why is it now that there has been complaints from the minority about the noise?
The former Dolphin held dances and discos over the years. But it looks like a worrying trend for the people who enjoy life, The Carlton, The Pit Club - gone. Look out 102 Bar, I bet eyes are on you next.

Why can’t people just let others live, we aren’t all the same?
I would like all those people who can’t bear noise to not live in a town centre.
Elaine Montgomery and her staff need our support. Stand up, be counted; we need to fight to keep Honiton from falling into a boring dead end town.
There are youngsters here and they are here to stay.
