HONITON Pantomime Society is gearing up for its production of Treasure Island.Rehearsals have been going on since September to bring the story to life. The crews have been press- ganged, the vessels are under construction and the words and songs are being memorised as opening night gets closer.A spokesman for Honiton Pantomime Society said: "The story will be easily recognisable as only the names have been changed to protect the innocent."However, all is not yet shipshape and Bristol fashion as, unless we are able to fill the treasure chest with gold dubloons and pieces o' eight, then there will not be enough booty to pay for rum and victuals for the mutinous crew, stock the ships and buy new ordnance, muskets and powder."Treasure Island is set to be staged from Wednesday, February 4, to Saturday, February 7, with a matinee on the Saturday. However, you have to be quick as tickets are selling fast from Honiton Toy Shop, with the closing performance already sold out.
