A PERSISTENT?flasher is no longer on the run in Honiton.
The little green man, which has flashed on the pelican crossing outside Honiton Post Office for at least a decade, has been given a modern new image - and he no longer flashes.
New control pads have been introduced to comply with Department for Transport specifications. Those using the crossing should keep their eyes on the button panel (to their right) to see when it's safe to cross and not look straight ahead, as in the past. When it is safe to cross, the man will turn green and stay green until traffic is about to start moving again.
