Members of Honiton Probus Club recently learnt about the subject of dowsing by local expert Charles Palmer.
Charles, who lives in Exeter, runs courses and gives extensive talks on the subject throughout Devon.
It became apparent that, contrary to common opinion, the art of dowsing is not just about locating subterranean water, it extends to identifying the buried remains of old buildings, structures and other artefacts.
The club meets on the last Thursday of each month at the Heathfield Inn in Honiton.
