HONITON Register Office is moving to Heathpark Industrial Estate to make way for an expansion of the Thelma Hulbert Gallery.The service, provided by Devon County Council, was given six months' notice to quit its ground floor premises in Elmfield House by East Devon District Council, which runs the gallery.Yesterday (Tuesday), a spokesman for the county council confirmed the register office will move to the East Devon Business Centre, also owned by East Devon District Council, on August 1. the spokesman said: "This will be the new office base, where we will register births, deaths and take notice of marriages and civil partnerships."East Devon District Council is allowing the ceremony room (at Elmfield House) to be used until the end of September to ensure that we do not let down anyone who has booked a ceremony.
