Emergency services are currently at the scene.

A collision between two heavy goods vehicles in Honiton has left a road blocked.

BBC Travel Southwest has tweeted A373 Dowell Street is blocked both directions between Northcote Lane and Awliscombe, and traffic is ‘slow moving’.

The collision is thought to have happened shortly before 2.40pm today (Tuesday, July 12).

Honiton PCSO Steve Mingo has tweeted that the road is ‘completely blocked’.

Firefighters from Honiton, Ottery St Mary, Tiverton and Middlemoor attended the scene and used hydraulic rescue equipment to free a male casualty trapped by his feet.

Once he was released, they made the vehicles and surrounding area safe.

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said that the male was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital by ambulance.
