A Honiton salon is trying to do its bit for the environment by bringing in a range of beauty products ‘with a conscience’.
No. 22 Hair Boutique in New Street, has introduced the Kevin Murphy range, which uses bottles made from 100 per cent recycled ocean plastics.
Salon owner Tasha Browning said: “This is something we have been wanting to do because we throw out so much plastic.
“If these bottles can be used again, it’s amazing.
“This is all about helping future generations and if we can do a little bit, it goes a long way.
“I think of a lot of people in Honiton will support this because of the area they live in. We need to look after our area or the beaches are not going to be there in future.”
No. 22 has followed the lead of another New Street business in trying to benefit the environment.
Butcher Laurie Spencer, of Porkies, has replaced plastic packaging with paper products at his shop – even though the cost is higher.
