A Honiton-based mobility scheme has helped two people by giving them scooters.

Carol Gilson, founder of the Joe Gilson Mobility Scheme, presented a vehicle to Lee Carswell, a leg amputee from Exeter.

Mr Carswell, 47, said that the donation would change his life. Another scooter was given to a lady from Slough, who was living with the after-effects of a severe stroke. The scooter was donated by Honiton town councillor Jackie Wadsworth, on behalf of her late husband.

The two scooters were the 162nd and 163rd donated by the scheme to date since its launch.

To donate a scooter to the scheme, call Carol on 01404 43341.
