Food collected from harvest festival will be given to people in need.
Section members of the 1st Honiton Scout Group held a harvest festival and donated a big box of supplies to the King’s Centre Food Bank in the process.
The members were encouraged to bring in the food from home to coincide with the festival.
Teresa Hawkes, manager of the bank, met the members and had a talk with them, explaining that people would have to go without food if they were not there.
The Scouting members also asked questions and then they soon realised how lucky they were to have food on the table at mealtimes.
They all decided that it was a very worthwhile cause especially as it helped people in Honiton.
