Youngsters from Honiton’s Scouting group proudly paraded through the town to celebrate St George’s Day.

In total, more than 40 members of 1st Honiton Scout Group took part in the special parade.

Helen Turner, scout leader, said: “We made a dragon shape out of rope and put our flags in the middle.

“We had 48 youngsters turn up to parade which was really good.”

The Scouts also raised £100 for the Richards Wish Charity by holding a collection on the day.

The Dawlish-based charity was set up for the family of Richard Cridge, who was diagnosed with rare disease Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2006.

The charity aims to raise funds to provide a child, teenager or young adult undergoing treatment for cancer with a wish.

The cheque was collected from a member of Richard’s family last Thursday at the group’s Beaver section meeting.
