HONITON Town Council is one of 50 local authorities across the UK to join forces for the BBC's Breathing Places campaign. The aim is to turn communities into breathing places. The council has made a commitment to make space for nature and create wildlife friendly communities in urban and rural locations over the next 12 months. At Roundball Wood and at the Glen in Honiton the plan is to change the community by opening up the spaces and improving signage so that they are more accessible to local people and visitors. New walkways and interpretation boards at Roundball Wood will guide people through the unique nature of the wet woodland.Karen Gregory, BBC Breathing Places Project Executive, said: "I am delighted that Honiton Town Council has joined us for what promises to be an exciting year for the Breathing Places Campaign. Working in partnership gives us both a wonderful opportunity to reach thousands of people.
