HONITON Town Council has two new members - Jeff Ayes and Susan Groves.
Councillor Groves, a railway signaller in the town, attended her first council meeting last night (Monday).
The 50-year-old has lived in Honiton for 11 years and told the Herald: "Becoming a councillor was something I always thought I would do, and the opportunity came up.
"I come from a family with a history of councillors."
Councillor Ayes, 77, retired as a checkout worker at Tesco in Honiton last March.
Before working in a supermarket, he was a sales engineer for an international company.
He has lived in Honiton for 15 years and says he was encouraged to stand for public office by other councillors.
