Kay Townsend will speak about growing up in a fairground family.

The Honiton University of the Third Age (U3A) will welcome speaker Kay Townsend – ‘My Life on the Fairgrounds’ this month.

The Townsend family from Weymouth have been involved in fairgrounds for about 150 years and Kay’s talk, on July 19, draws on personal memories of growing up in a fairground family during the 20th century.

She will speak at the Beehive and doors will open 1.30pm for a 2pm start.

Members get in for free and visitors are welcome for a suggested donation of £2.
