A Honiton student has scooped top honours in a Rotary music competition.

Ellie Sharland, a year 10 student at Honiton Community College, entered the competition last month and performed ‘Lost Without You’ by Freya Ridings.

A spokesman for the community college said: “We are very proud of Ellie’s outstanding vocal performance and pleased to announce that Ellie came first in her category.

“Well done Ellie!”

Ellie will be performing again at the annual Honiton Community College carol service - along with other talented musicians from the school. The concert will take place at St Paul’s Church on Honiton High street between 7pm and 8.30pm on December 18.

This Friday (December 14), the college hosts its annual senior citizens lunch.

The festive meal will start at 2pm.

For more information about the carol service, call the college on 01404 42283.
