A Honiton youngster has braved the clippers to raise more than £200 for a cancer charity.

Selfless Lewis Wood, seven, had his long locks shaved off as part of Macmillan Cancer Charity’s ‘Brave the Shave’ campaign.

The appeal asks people to shave their heads as a way of helping people living with cancer take back control so they can start to feel like themselves again.

Lewis travelled to Ottery St Mary to have his head shaved.

In all, the youngster raised £210.96 for Macmillan.

Lewis’ mum, Charlotte, said: “It was a very proud parent moment.

“Lewis saw the advert on TV and wanted to do something to help. He’s a very caring boy.

“We have had family and friends who have been looked after by the Macmillan team and being a care assistant myself, I have met a few of the fantastic team and staff.”
