HOSPISCARE is appealing for businesses and residents to save their postal stamps, as selling UK stamps raises about £13,000 for the charity every year.

Tony Coop, who has run the appeal for over 10 years and raised over £130,000, understands it will be more difficult at a time when people are doing less business and laying staff off.

But he felt the Christmas period was a good time to start collecting due to cards being sent.

Businesses can also support Hospiscare by collecting ink cartridges and mobile phones that can be recycled and make money for the local branch.

Send stamps to: Hospiscare, Dryden Road, FREEPOST (SWB 310068), Exeter, EX2 5ZZ or drop them into any Hospiscare shop.

Call the fundraising team on 01392 688020 to arrange stamp collection or to set up cartridge or phone collection. There are also details on www.hospiscare.co.uk .
