Seaton and District Hospital League of Friends’ second store is one year old
Seaton and District Hospital League of Friends is celebrating its second charity shop’s first year of trading.
Since it opened the extra store in Fore Street the group’s vital fundraising has been given a welcome boost.
Manager Louisa Clarke said “We would like to thank all our hard working and dedicated volunteers and also our customers for their continued support. We have had a fabulous year in both our shops which has been down to the generosity of our local community with their good quality donations.
“We are always looking for volunteers to keep our busy shops open. If you feel you could spare just three hours a week we would love to hear from you.”
Volunteer Iris Maxam said: “Working for the league gives me a lot of pleasure - knowing I am helping support our local hospital and the Seaton Friends Hospiscare@Home service.
“I enjoy chatting and helping customers and. My move to the new shop was an absolute joy.”
Another volunteer, Jackie Linton, said: “Having had first hand experience of the wonderful Seaton Friends Hopiscare@Home nurses I wanted to give a little something back. Volunteering in the new second shop from the day it opened was one way to do that. A great place to meet people and hopefully help our customers find what they are looking for.”
