Local cook invited to run the dining room at Hawkchurch’s Fairwater Head
An East Devon hotel is inviting a local chef to take over its retaurant.
The unusual offer is being made by the owners of the Fairwater Head Hotel, in Hawkchurch.
The established 16-bedroom hotel has successfully run its own restaurant for a number of years and the current proproetors, Adam and Carrie Southwell, gave it a complete makeover when they bought the business in 2006.
But due to other commitments they are now offering the opportunity for a local Devon or Dorset based chef to take over the restaurant and develop it with his or her own ideas, as well as running it as their own business.
Mr Southwell told The Herald: “We see this as a great opportunity for someone to come in and independently run the restaurant without having the set up costs of a stand alone
restaurant. We will still run the hotel offering quality accommodation and locally sourced breakfasts, but beyond this it’s a chance for someone to take over the restaurant with a fully operational kitchen. It’s a great opportunity for a local chef who is ready to make the move.”
