THE Lyme Regis Group of Amnesty Internationl is holding two presentations to highligh the plight of human right situations in Tibet and Burma.
Members of ‘Free Tibet’ will show a 20-minute film, ‘Leaving Fear Behind’, and give a question and answer session.
The film is about the lives of ordinary Tibetans under Chinese occupation - and some makers of the film have been tortured or kept in detention.
One of the speakers at the event, on Thursday, July 15, at 5.15pm, helped bring the film out of Tibet.
On Monday, July 19, at 5.30pm, Tony Fairman, Burma country co-ordinator from Amnesty International UK, will discuss ‘Burmese Generals, Elections and Human Rights’.
Both events take place at Hallett Court, Queen’s Walk. Admission is free and parking is available at the rear of the building.
