The Jolly Good Jaunt took place near Honiton on Sunday and raised thousands for Hospiscare

The clocks went back and hundreds of Hospiscare supporters stepped forward, donning their tweed to walk the beautiful paths and lanes of Weston, Buckrell and Feniton to raise invaluable funds in support of the charity’s end-of life services.

The Jolly Good Jaunt, a sponsored walk in its fourth year, started and finished at the stunning Deer Park Country House Hotel.

New for 2017, younger families enjoyed a children’s nature trail within the grounds, where they played nature bingo, made leafy owls and willow wands, and were entertained by Clive the Storyteller.

Event fundraiser Sharon Ewart said: “Many thanks to everyone who joined us, including the fabulous 70 volunteers.

“There was a lovely atmosphere, with the whole family coming together, including their four legged friends who enjoyed a gorgeous autumnal morning.”

With sponsorship money still to be collected, it is anticipated that £15,000 will be raised to support the patients and their families within the local community.
