Hospsicare’s new Kings House day centre in Honiton raised nearly £1,000 when supporters put on a fundraising family fun day and open garden.

The centre welcomed more than 200 people at the event held on Saturday, August 15.

Around £970 was raised, with the money set to be used at Kings House.

Mary Bolshaw, chairman of Honiton Hospiscare Support Group, said: “It was a beautiful day and everyone who came was most enthusiastic about the design of Kings House and all of the facilities it offers. What a lovely atmosphere it was.”

Mary added that visitors were ‘extremely pleased’ with the progress the day centre has made since it opened in Honiton in February.

The centre opened after a major fundraising appeal, which was supported by the Midweek Herald and its sister newspapers in East Devon.
