Air and sea search called off after 77-year-old was found to have gone on a bus outing

A FULL-SCALE coastal search for a ‘missing’ Seaton pensioner was called off last night (Wednesday) after it was discovered he had gone on a bus trip.

The Devon and Cornwall police helicopter joined officers on the ground and Beer Coastguard unit to look for the 77-year-old man.

Sidmouth Independent Lifeboat was also called to help in the hunt when the man was located near his home in Seaton. He had caught the X53 bus to Exeter and then returned home.
