When I wrote in with my candid thoughts on the issue of unitary Devon it seems that I touched a raw nerve since it has provoked an attack by both Labour and Conservatives.What is more, if I have offended both Conservatives and Labour I must have got the balance right. In the Midweek Herald former East Devon Conservative councillor Tony Wilkinson wrote a letter spluttering with indignation about what I had said. Yet, until portfolio holders on EDDC were faced with significant overspends because they hadn't been keeping an eye on their budgets, they just cruised along.Perhaps the Conservatives on East Devon haven't noticed that their party political colleagues on Devon County Council are backing the unitary Devon option!CLLR Margaret Rogers
