Immam to address county council

IN response to the bombing incident in Exeter last week, Devon County Council has invited the Immam from Exeter Mosque to address the start of the Executive Committee at County Hall, Exeter at 1.30pm today.

IN response to the bombing incident in Exeter last week, Devon County Council has invited the Immam from Exeter Mosque to address the start of the Executive Committee at County Hall, Exeter at 1.30pm today.Devon County Council Leader Brian Greenslade said: "All our communities across Devon, including our Muslim communities, were deeply shocked by the Exeter bombing incident. We will continue to work together with all our communities and the Police to tackle extremism in whatever form it comes."The police investigation is still ongoing and we do not want to see increased tension between communities. I would urge the people of Exeter and Devon to stay calm and not to make assumptions about any particular community based on this isolated incident."Exeter and Devon have a proud history of different communities working together and we must not allow this incident, or anything else, to stop that from continuing.
